Exhibitions continued

Into the new year, the headline shows continue.

Last night I went to see the new Kimono exhibit at the V&A, starting with an expected introduction to its heritage and story, before we observe its export to the western world and its transformation at the hands of designer fashion and popular culture.

Also at the V&A was a look into the world of Tim Walker, full of famous faces and ultra wide lenses. Bridget Riley’s show at the Hayward Gallery was more of a visual assault, enjoyable but not without tired eyes.

And then there was the wild works of Nam June Paik at the Tate Modern. Like the inside of his brain exploded across the entire gallery, revealing television after television and a fuzzy white screen where his synapses would be.
