Hiring: Design Studio Assistant & Junior Designer

Wireforks is an independent graphic design agency — established in 1999, working from a tidy studio in Shoreditch. We are a compact and efficient creative team of talented freelance partners. We come together to interpret interesting briefs creatively and vigorously, working mostly for a Japanese furniture manufacturer. Our daily work is creative, time-sensitive and demanding. We enjoy working.

Studio Assistant

The main duty is to work through administrative tasks independently, including but not limited to maintaining accounting file, data filing, purchasing studio necessities, running errands, maintaining studio tidiness, and assisting our Creative Director. Telephone and email communications with printers and publishers will be part of the work.

Additional tasks will include assisting on site at photo shoots, researching and assistance for design projects, depending on the successful applicant’s abilities.

Skills and experience

• Apple Mac literate and experienced (including knowledge of Pages, Numbers, Calendar and web browsing are the minimum requirements)
• Good communication skills in English (verbal and written)
• Japanese language is useful for our projects
• Punctual, reliable, well organised and tidy
• Comfortable in small team
• Self-motivated

Hours: 4–5 days (Mon–Fri) 9.30–17.30
Salary: £7.5–10 (dependent upon skills and experience)

Junior Graphic Designer

Your primary role will be to assist our design team on print and digital projects.

Skills and experience

• Competence in Mac and Adobe platforms (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) is essential
• Punctual, reliable and can work to deadlines
• Comfortable in small team
• Enthusiastic about design and work
• Fluency in German and Japanese will be highly valued
• Design studio experience is preferable

Hours: 4–5 days (Mon–Fri) 9.30–17.30
Salary: £9–15 (dependent upon skills and experience)
